Its been forever since I have been on here. So here we go! On Mothers Day 2011, Landon rolled over! Talk about a special 1st Mothers Day. But at this point he is now sitting up on his own too! He is moving on to stage 2 foods and is becoming quite the eater. We have been calling him pork pork. We bought him a small swimming pool and he has decided he loves it! He kicks and kicks in the water. Landons puppy Hugo had to have surgery on his leg again. It is so sad. He had to have his ACL repaired but if its going to make him better so he will have many years to play with Landon then it is all worth it.

We are trying to figure out a vacation we can take with our son. We dont want somewhere too hot or sunny because he is still so little but as of now we are thinking San Antonio with lots of indoor activities. I am wanting to have his grandparents come along so that we have help if there is something we want to do but cant take the baby. But we will see. I guess I am going to sign off for now because I want to go look at Landons recent photo shoot so see you next time.

Ok so I havent been able to keep up daily but I will start catching up on everything maybe once a week. We had a doctors appointment on Monday because Landon has developed a "cough". Yep you got it. Completely fake to get attention. Funny how they learn that stuff this small. He also has eczema and an umbilical hernia. Both not serious.He got his 4 month shots and was very mad at his mommy. He was 25 1/2 inches tall and 13.6 lbs. So needless to say he was tall and skinny. 75th percentile in height, 25th in weight. So we have started on baby food. He has already had squash and carrots and LOVES them but we tried green beans today and he is a little unsure. He ate them but you could tell he does not know what to think about them.

Landon also got to meet his Uncle Ricky, Aunt Carly, and cousins Macy and Alexis this last weekend. He just loves girls and his Aunt Carly. Took a little bit for his Uncle Ricky to hold him but when he did he held him a lot. Also Brian Barnum, his girlfriend Kendra, and his daughter Lola came for a visit. Lola sure is a cute little girl and very big. Landon was worn out after all of his company.

Mothers day is this coming weekend too. This will be my first mothers day to celebrate. Dont think we will do much. But I can clearly remember mothers day last year and I was totally bummed out because I just knew I was having another miscarriage. I had the exact same symptoms and signs as my first miscarriage and so it was not a happy day for me but I tried to put on a happy face to help celebrate with my mother-in-law. I had a ultrasound the day before and they would NOT let me watch or tell me anything. So that was on Saturday and I had to wait until MONDAY to find anything out. Come Monday morning I was at work (just to mention it was a new job and I had worked with these people for a month maybe) and I got a call from the doctor. He just basically said " I am calling to tell you that I have the results of your ultrasound and the heartbeat looks great and healthy!" and I just sat there for a second then said excuse me what?!? And he laughed and said all looks fine. See we didnt have a heartbeat on the first miscarriage. So to have found a heartbeat this time was amazing. I came out of the back room and everyone was starting at me and I just started bawling. Everyone was kind of sad until I said they found a heartbeat and I am pretty sure a couple people started crying with me. Had to be one of the happiest days of my life. Now here I am mothers day this year and I have a perfect little 4 month old healthy baby boy that I get to spend every day of my life with and I couldnt ask for a better life. He sure is special to me.

Well now that I have shared that wonderful story I need to sign off to feed him his green beans for supper. This should be fun!!!

Today was just an amazing day altogether. Waking up to my sons smiling face is just the beginning of a wonderful day with him. We both got around to go grocery shopping because Landons Uncle Ricky, Aunt Carly, Cousins Macy and Alexis are coming to see him this weekend. So of course while grocery shopping I have to hit the baby department and landed in the baby food aisle. Since Landon has been eating cereal for a few weeks now, I decided to try a vegetable. So we ended up trying squash as his first "baby food". To my surprise he LOVES it. Squash of all things? I would dip the spoon in the jar and he would already have his mouth open. Then after a few dirty and I mean DIRTY diapers, I decided to put him in his baby Einstein jumper that his Aunt and Uncle bought him. He figured out today that if he moves his legs it bounces. So he is getting the idea. Its just amazing the things he does different every single day. I had put him on the couch for a bit with his boppy and I made a noise and he jumped and then stared at me for a good 5 minutes. I started to try to baby talk and comfort him and the more I did that the further his bottom lip puckered and his tears started flowing. So as I bounced him and comforted him he calmed down and I asked him "are you still upset with mommy?" and he broke down crying again. I think I have an emotional son. But its sweet. Although next week he has a doctors appointment and gets his 4 month shots so that will be a hard day. I dont like to see his feelings hurt when his Nurse Jera gives him shots. She does it super fast and is really good, I just think my son isnt a tough guy yet. Dr. Fricker said "Jera does them so fast that most of the time babies dont even feel it till the 3rd shot". NOT MY SON....he started screaming on the first one at his 2 month shots. But I want him to be healthy so we have to get them done. I also noticed he likes to watch sporting events on television. He is watching the Heat VS Sixers basketball playoffs. Maybe hes going to be our superstar. Well it is now bath time for him so better log off for the night and get myself in gear! On to the next night.

4/26/11

So today has been interesting. Landon ate some oatmeal for lunch in his highchair for the first time. He loves oatmeal. But today was a weird day. For some odd reason he wanted mommy to hold him all day. Which I did and loved every minute of it. Im pretty sure he will be a mommas boy. And he also put himself to sleep in his crib for his nap time. He still sleeps by my side at night because I am just not ready for him to be in his own room on his own. I love that he needs me. My goodness I cant even imagine when he goes off to college. I may have to go with him.

Other than that not much has happened today. Could have been a better day for me but thats alright. Ill make it just fine. Sometimes life is just not fair, so I have been told all my life, but am realizing that statement is very true.

So today I decided to start a blog just for a fun project but also to document the daily things that change with my son. I know there will be moments that I may forget so this will be another way to keep up.

Being a stay at home mom is probably the biggest decision I have ever had to make but I believe I made the right choice. Although I miss my job and coworkers at Quail Creek Bank, I get to spend every single day with my son and I could'nt be happier. He is such a mess but so much fun.

Landon will be 4 months old in 4 more days. I could cry. He is growing so fast. We actually started rice cereal early due to his acid reflux. But we were having a little bit of "plumbing" issues with that so we switched to oatmeal 2 nights ago. Let me tell you, we have a little pig on our hands. When it comes to oatmeal, this boy can eat. He has started to get the little fat thighs which are super cute on infants. I think he may be starting to teethe too. He is constantly drooling and trying to eat whatever he can. Fingers are his favorite. And speaking of fingers, he noticed today that he has them. He has already discovered that he has a hand but today his fingers moved and he stared at them for a good 10 minutes just in awe.

We were able to view his Easter photos today also. Jared Wanzer @ jaredwanzerphotography.com is taking photos of Landon every month for the first year of his life. Jared was also our wedding photographer. I tell you, we have a model and handsome little man on our hands. I know I know I am his mother and a bragger but I still think he is the cutest baby I have ever met.

I just stared at him over and over yesterday and still do not see a single bit of "mommy" in him. He is totally a daddy's boy when it comes to his looks. A few people have said that he looks just like me but I think they are just being nice. Ok so onto the day with Landon today.

We woke up early and got around because we had to go to get my retainers from my dentist and then decided to go to QCB and see his Aunt Lauren and what James likes to call "Uncle Jimmy". I know sounds very creepy. (Shout out to James Griffith). So while we were at the bank, Uncle Jimmy decided to do a Steven Tyler impression and scared the living daylights out of Landon. It took him a good 5 minutes to realize that what he just heard wasnt right and then he got the sad face and cried. So his uncle Jimmy decided maybe he needs to be a little nicer next time. James then says "Uncle Jimmy will rock you to sleep next time"! Now that one was really creepy!!! LOL! Anyway we left the bank and decided to surprise Daddy with cupcakes from Gi Gi's. (Found out daddy doesnt really like cupcakes so guess I have to eat them). We also made one of his favorite dishes, Mommys chicken enchiladas. They were ok.

After eating we were able to get Landon settled in after a big bowl of oatmeal, a bottle, a warm bath after blowing out his diaper and staining his clothes, and now he is in bed. I miss the little man when he is sleeping. Which is why I stay up a lot just to watch him. Sometimes he is just so sweet that I want to wake him up just to give him a kiss of see him smile but I know its not fair to him so I let him sleep.

Now I am at the point I am just rambling to keep myself away to watch game 4 of Thunder VS Nuggets so I guess I need to sign off and go to bed. I need to read Bible verses and rest up. I am tired!

Guess we will see what tomorrow brings since Landon changes daily.
